“Perfect autumn holiday” We spent 17 days at C’era una Volta in Scicli in September/October. Francesca and her family took very good care of us. The house is beautifully situated in a valley between two hillsides – with cave settlements nearby. The interior is very well planned and functional. The terrace had a nice view over the rooftops and was at the same time very private. The town centre is only a short walk away. Scicli has many beautiful buildnings and an interesting history – which Francesca told us all about during an interesting walk through the town. Francesca is a very discrete and thoughtful host. Scicli is an ideal basis for taking trips to nearby Ragusa, Modica and Ispica. The beautiful beach of Sampieri was one of our favorites. We would love to return to Cera una volta and to Scicli.

“Just as magical as we remembered” My boyfriend and I first visited C’era una volta in September 2012 and have pined for it ever since. When it came to choosing a summer holiday for 2013, there was really only one option – we had to return. If possible, we fell even more in love with it than before. Scicli was just as fabulous as we remembered: the shabby-chic architecture, the bustling town squares, the friendly people and fabulous food. We were delighted to get to know Francesca and Luigi better when they (and their two adorable daughters) kindly took us on a tour of Scicli’s different neighbourhoods. On our final night, we shared a magical dinner with them at a nearby agriturismo. It was an evening we won’t forget. To me, Scicli will always be the perfect village to visit – and C’era Una Volta the perfect place to stay!

“Live like a local” We have just returned from a 2 week trip travelling across Sicily – one week of which was spent in the charming small town of Scicli at Francesca and Luigi’s lovely C’era una volta. The house is spotless and whilst away from the busy centre, is a very easy level walk of all the amenities of Scicli. Francesca could not have done more to make our stay easier, she was even on hand to advise my son and his girlfriend who were cooking, how to prepare the Sicilian vegetable tenerumi! We have travelled a fair bit around Italy, including Sardinia and Sicily, but particularly liked this area and loved Scicli. The people were friendly and welcoming and made us feel very much a part of their community. Grazie Francesca – alla prossima!
