We stayed at Francesca’s lovely little house for a week in May 2014. It has been beautifully restored and updated with a great roof top terrace. The living area is well equipped with everything you need and the bedroom comfortable and a good size. The terrace has a table, umbrella shade and chairs as well as a clothes rack and pegs. There are two bathrooms with one on the ground floor. Francesca made us very welcome, as did the friendly neighbours, and she has provided a comprehensive guide folder for guests. She is more than happy to answer any questions and offer help. Her lovely daughters even made us speciality Sicilian cakes. It is a pleasant, short walk to the old town of Scicli with it’s many restaurants, cafes, bars and piazzas. There are a number of very fine Baroque churches and architecture. Parking is close by and Scicli handy for trips to Ragusa Ibla, the coast and a range of wonderful places to visit. It is our second visit to Scicly and we would happily return to this house for more.

Francesca is the best host and goes far beyond what we would expect- Scicli is perfect if you like small intimate towns , birdsong, greenery and not many tourists and wonderful gleaming limestone baroque architecture. The little apartment is in a delightful location in tiny cobbled street way overlooking the greenery and cave dwellings of the past yet only 4 minutes walk to town. Living room/kitchen has no windows, opens straight onto the tiny street but is more than compensated by the brilliantly lit, beautiful and comfortable bedroom above as well as a marvellous roof terrace with great view. highly recommended
