Yes, back again for a third time and it felt as if time had stood still.
We arrived by train from Siracusa, and after a leisurely lunch at Caffe Sicilia, we walked round to Piedagrotta, stopping to talk to the friendly tinsmiths near St Bartolomeo. As we walked round the corner to go to Piedagrotta, Francesca was waiting to greet us.
The house still feels like home, and we soon settled back in to life as Anglo-Scicilians!
We still ate out at night or at lunch time but tried some different places. Would definitely recommend Baqqala, Tre Colli and Pomodoro.
Again we used public transport to get around. My husband ventured up to San Matteo and also walked up to the convent on the hill behind Piedagrotta, although the church was closed.
The week flew by, however we were lucky to get to view Francesca and Luigi’s new rental, just round the corner, as it neared completion. Very nice and we wish them well with that and continued success with Piedagrotta.
